In a Friday news conference, Texas Longhorns coach Mack Brown confirmed that he has sent Case McCoy and Jordan Hicks home, only a day before his squad takes the field against Oregon State in the Alamo Bowl.

Brown has come under fire in recent years after fielding what has been perceived to be underachieving football teams. However, he did not let that fact deter him from making this decision.

Case McCoy is the younger brother of current NFL quarterback and Longhorns superstar Colt McCoy. He started five games last season and one this year. Hicks is a junior linebacker who has not played since Week 3 with a hip injury. KENS-TV in San Antonio quoted city police as saying that the two Longhorns players are currently being investigated under allegations of sexual assault.

While no charges have been filed, a police report obtained by ESPN.com stated that whatever took place did so between 2 and 2:40 am Friday morning.

“No arrests have been made. As far as the investigation goes, it is still being currently investigated,” Matthew Porter of the San Antonio police told ESPN.com. “There is no timetable for the investigation” to be handed over to the district attorney.

It sounds like McCoy and Hicks really should have obeyed team curfew.
