For those who haven't visited the Swamp in the past two years, it now seems more like a marsh. Fans head out early, boos are hurled throughout the game and tickets don't sell out. If you attended the Florida-LSU game two weeks ago, then you would know that the old Swamp is back. And if South Carolina thought Death Valley was bad enough, the Gamecocks haven't seen anything yet.

Among the banged-up Gamecocks this week is Marcus Lattimore, who sat out practice Wednesday because of a bad hip. Expect a heavy dose of back-up tailback Kenny Miles, but do not be surprised if Lattimore makes an appearance.

They have the mammoth task of defending this guy, and that's no easy chore. This battle in the trenches is probably the most important one-on-one match-up tomorrow, some injury concerns exist about Xavier Nixon and a concussion suffered against Vanderbilt, so we’ll see how Nixon or his successor perform tomorrow against the stud defensive end.

Remember when Brandon James was a threat every single time the opposing team punted a ball? Well, let me introduce you to the play maker, Ace Sanders. Averaging 16 yards a return with one punt returned for a touchdown, Sanders is scary with the ball in his hands. He is also fearless and hasn't fair caught a punt all year. Sanders isn’t a one-trick pony either--he has one passing and four receiving touchdowns.

This really applies to every Gators football game, but after a penalty or a breakdown in defensive coverage, it’s always fun to see Coach Boom explode on refs, back-ups, water boys or pretty much anyone unfortunate enough to be in his general vicinity.

With the injuries to Lattimore, it will be interesting to see if Spurrier leans heavily on back-up running back Kenny Miles, or if he airs it out some more with Connor Shaw. Don't be shocked if Spurrier brings some trick plays to the table as well. He would probably like nothing better than to silence the Swamp with some trickeration.

Look, I know it’s not scientific, but Florida has some good mojo going when Corso picks the opposition. This is the third time the Gators are one of the featured teams this season on ESPN College Gameday, and this time the show is originating from outside of the Swamp. Against Texas A&M and Tennessee, two opponents with canine mascots, Corso has exhibited some puppy love on the set. It would be pretty cool to see a live chicken or Gator whipped out with the gang.

Defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles was suspended Thurdsday night, thanks to Youtube. A video showed Quarles throwing a haymaker at LSU center P.J. Lonergan, who was lying on the ground. Depth is key in the SEC, and losing a starter is always tough, especially a lineman (and an interior one at that).

The kicking game

With the game expected to be a close one, things might come down to the legs of Florida's Caleb Sturgis or South Carolina's Adam Yates. Last time a Florida- South Carolina game came down to a kicker in Gainesville, Jarvis Moss had something to say about it.
