The Notre Dame Fighting Irish had entered Monday night’s BCS title game tilt against Alabama as the nation’s No. 1-ranked defense, giving up a paltry 10.3 points per game.

Well, linebacker Manti Te’o and Co. had never been forced to tackle a spin-move monster like Eddie Lacy.

Lacy put up six points the hard way early on against the Irish, and the Tide never looked back.
