2013 BCS National Championship game: Johnny Football shows loyalty to the SEC

| December 7, 2012 at 5:13 pm | 10 Comments

By now, most everyone in Tuscaloosa has gotten over the shell shock brought on by the explosion of Texas A&M’s redshirt freshman sensation, Johnny Manziel.

It helps to have watched Oregon and Kansas State lose on the same night, of course.

With the BCS National Championship game still a month away, Manziel and Notre Dame’s Manti Te’o have had the time off to schmooze in Orlando during various awards ceremonies and Heisman Trophy promotional shootings.

Te’o, of course, is the heart and soul of a defense that helped lead the Irish to its first perfect regular season since 1988, as well as a berth in the title game against, of course, Alabama.

Apparently, however, what happens in Bryant-Denny Stadium stays in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The young gunslinger is keeping what he saw in the Aggies’ upset win in Tuscaloosa under wraps, so that Te’o and Co. will have to figure it all out for themselves on January 7 in Miami.

As will the rest of us.

Te’o should just get ready for the ride of his life. He’s about to play big boy football for the first time in his career and this will prove his worth.

Really ? The first time in his life? He’s the best football player in the country. #SEC arrogance.

The SEC doesn’t hold 6 of the top 10 spots for nothing. #SouthernEliteConference #TrueStoryBro

That’s not what the comment was stating. SEC is beast mode, but to say he’s never played big boy football is arrogant. He would start at MLB for any team in the SEC or country. So again #SECArrogance.

He is overrated. I have seen better LB’s this year.

Jarvis Jones, C.J Mosley, Kevin Minter all could probably make that claim. And I’m intentionally not using any UF LBs because I’m a UF fan. But I’d gladly take Bostic at LB.

The SEC has 3-4 LBs that are better at least. This guy will get steamrolled by Bama and look just average on a very lacking defense. Granted ND does not have to play big games week in and week out like the SEC boys do but class is about to be in session. Te’o better eat his wheaties.
