2013 BCS Sugar Bowl: Florida Gators vs Louisville Cardinals
The official standings haven’t been released yet, but all of the noise in the sports world is pointing towards a Florida vs Louisville showdown in the 2013 Sugar Bowl.
The Gators will face off against former defensive coordinator Charlie Strong. Strong has led the Cardinals to a 10-2 record and a Big East championship in his third season at the helm of the program.
Louisville is home to a strong contigent of former Gators, including coaches Vance Bedford, Kenny Carter, and Tommy Restivo, as well as transfers Robert Clark, Gerald Christian, and Adrian Bushell.
Florida head coach Will Muschamp has completely turned the Gators football program around in just his second year, leading the team to an 11-1 record, a five game improvement from year one’s 7-6 record.
Florida has made eight Sugar Bowl appearances all-time, amassing a 3-5 record.
The game will be played in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, LA and is scheduled for January 2 at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
