The college football regular season has drawn to a close, but the real fun is about to begin.

The five most prestigious postseason bowl games have announced their teams and matchups; some which were expected and a few having appeared totally out of the blue.

With the surprised has come intrigue and, of course, the general hatred of the rules in place today. Four SEC team currently within the BCS top 10 were not invited to the fun, while the MAC’s first ever participant in Northern Illinois has crashed the party.

Click the links for a preview of each game, but here is the world’s fastest rundown of this year’s BCS bowl slate.

BCS National Championship, Alabama vs. Notre Dame: Two teams battle for both historical and present-day supremacy

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, Oregon vs. Kansas State: Only a few short weeks ago, this was supposed to be the National Championship game.

Nokia Sugar Bowl, Florida vs. Louisville: Louisville head coach Charlie Strong’s last game as the Gators’ defensive coordinator was the 2009 Sugar Bowl. He still checks Florida’s games weekly.

Discover Orange Bowl, Florida State vs. Northern Illinois: The Seminoles earned their first ACC title since 2005 and their reward is a team no one wants to watch or go pay to see.

Vizio Rose Bowl, Wisconsin vs. Stanford: Wisconsin heads into its third straight Rose Bowl as the first five-loss team to ever appear in The Grandaddy of ‘Em All.

Each game features great teams and NFL-caliber talent. Each is exciting in its own right, but which is the most appealing to you?
