I gave the players a choice today. Practice or whiffle ball. Whiffle ball was a lot of fun. Practice starts again tomorrow. Go Dawgs!

Well, about that whole, ‘you never take your opponent lightly’ thing.
What if that opponent gave up 70 points to a team with five losses to miss out on a conference championship and a Rose Bowl berth? Would that change your mentality towards a New Year’s Day matchup.
Generally, taking on a ranked opponent on January 1 is honorable in its own right, and should thus serve as all the motivation one needs.
However, after losing 32-28 in a heartbreaker to Alabama in the SEC Championship game, Richt’s Bulldogs missed out on a chance to play for the crystal ball against undefeated Notre Dame.
Now, despite the nice bowl game, there is no title, either in the conference or nationally. There is no immortality in winning the Capitol One Bowl, no matter what date the game is game played.
So, basically, it’s whatever.
Time for some wiffle ball.
