On Thursday, TMZ reported that Dan Marino, the legendary former quarterback of the Miami Dolphins, had not only had an affair with a CBS employee back in 2004, but the woman had given birth to their child in 2005.

Donna Savattere was 35 years old at the time of the affair. Marino, a pregame analyst for the station, was married at the time and still is. The child is Marino’s seventh.

He and his wife, Claire, have had six children together in their 28 years of marriage.

“I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then. We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved.”

He continues, “My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years and have six children together. And we continue to be a strong and loving family.”

The child has been kept from the public eye all this time, but in a world where TMZ is always on the prowl, it was only a matter of time before the boy or girl’s existence was brought to the fore.

It remains to be seen what type of relationship Dan has or will have with his seventh child.
