2013 Jon Gruden QB Camp: Manti Te’o, Luke Joeckel, Marcus Lattimore are first non-QBs invited

Joining former Oakland and Tampa Bay coach Jon Gruden in his QB Camp prior to the NFL Draft has become something of an annual rite of passage for the elite quarterbacks of college football since its inception in 2010.

Gruden breaks down film with each player and then goes through on-field drills individually as well. From his offices at South Florida, affectionately known as the ‘Fired Football Coaches Association’, Gruden personally designs lesson plans for every player in attendance as the NFL Draft approaches.

The 2013 Camp, to be aired in pieces on ESPN beginning on April 4, will be no different. However, while the best of the nation’s young star quarterbacks will be in attendance, a group of non-quarterbacks will be joining the fray for the very first time.

According to ESPN Front Row, those three are:

• Luke Joeckel (Texas A&M), the 2012 Outland Trophy winner and top-five prospect at offensive tackle.
• Marcus Lattimore (South Carolina), the heralded Gamecocks running back who suffered a severe knee injury in October but hopes to play in the NFL in 2013.
• Manti Te’o (Notre Dame), the highly-touted linebacker and Heisman Trophy runner-up who led the Fighting Irish to the BCS Championship game.

Those three will be joining each of the nine top-rated quarterbacks in the upcoming 2013 NFL Draft:

• Matt Barkley (USC)
• Tyler Bray (Tennessee)
• Zac Dysert (Miami, OH)
• Mike Glennon (N.C. State)
• Landry Jones (Oklahoma)
• EJ Manuel (Florida State)
• Ryan Nassib (Syracuse)
• Geno Smith (West Virginia)
• Tyler Wilson (Arkansas)
