When it comes to football in the South, the SEC reigns supreme, while the ACC is relegated to the third row seat in a 1980′s station wagon. It’s been that way for years, and even after the ACC tried to flex some muscle in recruiting Miami and Virginia Tech to their league, the SEC decided to take their play into another stratosphere.

SEC teams lean on the heavy weight the conference as a whole pulls as essentially being the NFL’s minor league, handpicking the top recruits in the nation each and every year.

Despite the fact that the 2013 recruiting season has brought much of the same results, the ACC is hot on the trail of several of the nation’s top recruits, all of whom are currently weighing their options between the big boys of the Southeastern Conference and the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton of 247Sports has broken down key SEC vs. ACC battles as we head into the home stretch.
