Over the Billy Donovan era the Florida Gators have made quite an impact on both the NCAA and NBA levels.
On Thursday, the complete 2013 NBA All-Star Game roster was announced and two former Gators, out of 24 total slots, made this year’s squad: Joakim Noah of the Chicago Bulls and David Lee of the Golden State Warriors.
Noah, who was the cornerstone of the back-to-back Florida championship squads, has elevated his play to an elite level the past couple of years and has been rewarded with his first All-Star appearance this year.
Noah is averaging 12.2 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game for the Bulls.
Lee, who is consistently one of the top players in the league, will be making his second NBA All-Star game appearance, the first being with the New York Knicks.
Lee is averaging 19.6 points per game and 10.8 rebounds.
Congratulations to both of these Gator greats for making this year’s All-Star squad.
