2013 NFL Combine: Times and performances for the defensive backs [Graph]

Watching big, bad, 300-plus pound linemen run sprints might be pretty funny, be viewing the lean, mean defensive backs take to the 2013 NFL Combine was no laughing matter. These players do not need to run routes, nor do they(generally) have to worry about blitz schemes; these small, fast players just have to hit whatever is in fron tof them and keep the ball out of the hands of anyone either in their zone on whom they are covering. Simply put, pure, raw athleticism was on full display in Indianapolis.

For the first time since the 2011 season, former LSU star Tyrann Mathieu took to the field. He was obviously hoping to impress scouts and NFL executives but disappointed mightily in the bench press. However, he impressed with a fast 40-yard dash, which should result in his getting drafted.

Despite a torn labrum that will require surgery, Alabama’s Dee Milliner may have cemented his status as a top five selection. He 40 time was the most impressive on the day.
