The 2013 NFL Scouting Combine is set to be held on February 20, and the number of young men attending is just about finalized. The Combine will run through February 26, and it will provide 333 former student-athletes one of their final opportunities to impress teams prior to the NFL Draft in April.
Of the 333 elite football players, 66 are underclassmen. There are a whopping 19 quarterbacks that are going to be poked, prodded, weighed and measured out of the 170 total offensive guys. Another 149 defensive players will be in Indianapolis, with the remaining attendees being kickers and long snappers.
According to Fansided, the SEC now has one more aspect of its football to brag about.
Conference mainstays LSU sends 13 players to the Combine, the most of any one program. Coach Mark Richt’s Georgia program sends 11 and winners of three of the last four BCS national championships, Alabama, sends 10.
