Settle It: Who should be No. 1 in the 2013 preseason college football rankings?

The Alabama Crimson Tide has taken home three of the last four BCS National Championships. Once again, coach Nick Saban pretended like he enjoyed a ride in a beautiful red mustang and once again, the rest of the nation was left to cringe and watch.

Once again, the Tide enters the year with talent all over the board and incoming freshmen who are already thinking about the NFL.

However, that does not mean they are guaranteed yet another crystal ball — quite the contrary in fact. The cream of the national crop boasts both experience and talent across the board. There are a half-dozen teams in the SEC alone that will give Bama a run for its money, not to mention the likes of Oregon and Stanford on the West Coast and Texas, Oklahoma and Ohio State in the South and Midwest.

All of these programs are hungry to unseat the champs, and almost all have a legit claim to a No. 1-overall ranking in the polls, even before any games are played.

So, now we ask you, erstwhile members of Gamedayr Nation to tell us: Who should be No. 1 in the 2013 preseason college football rankings?

Here, we have listed each team by their way too early Sports Illustrated rankings, but that doesn’t mean you have to. Like Billy Madison drawing himself a blue duck, this ranking is entirely yours. Just because Northwestern has never been No. 1 doesn’t mean you can’t imagine it.

Just ask Manti Te’o — zing!

Without further ado …
