ESPN releases early SEC Heisman contenders for 2013
The Heisman Trophy is awarded annually to the athlete deemed the most outstanding player in collegiate football. This past season saw the first freshman in history awarded the Trophy in Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel.
The SEC has won four of the past six Heismans and with the conference sporting nearly half of the preseason top 10 teams, littered with all-world playmakers, the Trophy could once again make its way down south.

ESPN recently unveiled five SEC players who are contenders for the 2013 Heisman Trophy.
1. Johnny Football, QB, Texas A&M
2. Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina
3. AJ McCarron, QB, Alabama
4. Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia
5. Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia
