Massive 2014 defensive tackle recruit Charles Mosley has Alabama as his No. 1 choice

Nick Saban has built a recruiting machine at Alabama that has brought in the nation’s top class in five of the last six seasons. That talent has obviously had a lot to do with the fact that his actual teams have taken home three of the nation’s last four national championships.

Now, Saban and the Tide have their sights zeroed in on one of the biggest (literally) defensive tackles for the 2014 national recruiting cycle in Tennessee native Charles Mosley. More importantly, Mosley may have his sights zeroed in on Tuscaloosa.

“Alabama is my leader and I like everything about Alabama, but I will see other schools and compare everything,” Mosley told Chad Simmons of Scout.com.

At 6-foot-5 and 350 pounds, Mosley obviously has the type of size that cannot be taught. For that reason, he has gotten SEC recruiters and scouts absolutely drooling. Aside from Bama, he already also has offers on the table from Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

His home-state Volunteers brought in Butch Jones following a disastrous three-year tenure under Derek Dooley. Jones has already hit the recruiting trail hard, hoping to keep the very best of his in-state talent in Knoxville. Thus, and in spite of the fact that he stated he has Alabama as his leader, the Vols are not out of the picture quite yet.

“I went to Tennessee a little while ago and I did not really know what to expect,” Mosley said. “Some people had been telling me about it and I really liked it. They have great fans, the basketball game was rocking, I really liked Coach Butch Jones, and I had a good time.”

Thus far, Mosley has already visited Alabama, Tennessee as well as Oxford to see Ole Miss. He understands that he has time, and he is taking it — but he would like to spend his senior season of high school football focusing on the challenges he is going to face on the field, as opposed to on the recruiting trail.

“I plan to commit by the start of the season,” Mosley added. “I will take more visits this spring and summer, I will see who offers me, and I would like to make my decision before the football season begins.”

Tide Nation is hoping to see this big body in Tuscaloosa come this time next year.
