When he is not eating pounds of world-class food in a rowdy environment and generally under a time limit, Travel Channel personality Adam Richtman is a die-hard sports fan just like the rest of us.

Apparently, and in no small part to the popular FIFA video games, Richtman, the host of Man vs. Food and Best Sandwich in America, is a huge Tottenham Hotspur fan.

Of course, what else to do as a host on the Travel Channel? Why, travel, you silly Gamedayrs!

Thus, Richtman was sent across The Pond and provided a tour of the the stadium he has grown to love so much since first being introduced to the club playing FIFA ’98.

While perhaps an Alabama fan or an Oregon fan may not be able to relate to the joy of watching a soccer game, fans of any team and of any sport can completely understand how it feels to enter your favorite team’s stadium for the very first time.

It is a time, and a feeling, most sports fans never forget.

Whether it be as a small child, holding the protective hand of a parent, or as a grown man hosting a television show, the time is a special one.

At around the 1:30-mark, Richtman gets choked up at the sight of something he never believed would be in front of him: Tottenham’s London home, White Hart Lane.

As the BCS and general bowl season draws ever closer, along with the holidays and the warming up of basketball season, we are reminded yet again of how deeply sports can and does affect our lives, in vastly different and sometimes unexpected ways.

Has Richtman earned his role as the Gamedayr of the Day? Let us know in the comments below!
