Linebacker AJ Hilliard transfers to Texas A&M after one year with TCU

Aggies coach Kevin Sumlin continues to rake in some of the nation’s premier talent in varying ways. This time, instead of dipping back into the prep ranks, Sumlin and his recruiting staff headed across the state to snag a young man who already had a year’s playing experience.
AJ Hilliard played in 11 games for TCU a season ago, recording one tackle while playing mainly special teams.
Interestingly enough, the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder out of Klein, Texas, did have an offer from Texas A&M last year, but chose instead to accept a scholarship to play for the Horned Frogs.
Now, only one year later, Hilliard makes the switch to Aggieland. There were already 18 linebackers on the roster for 2013, not including Hilliard, according to Frogs O’ War, so it will be interesting to see where and how Hilliard fits in Sumlin’s plans for his defense going forward.
