The nation’s top dual-threat quarterback, Asiantii Woulard, has finally made his commitment, and it will be far from where he had originally intended to play. The 6-foot-3, 204-pound star will head across the country to UCLA.

Woulard was originally the face of Skip Holtz’ recruiting class at South Florida. However, following the Bulls’ three-win season, Holtz was fired and the young signal-caller was forced to re-evaluate his options.

The Winter Park, Fla. native wants to major in mass communications, and he was told by Jim Mora that living in Los Angeles will be great for his career post-football. It is rare to see a young man taking such qualifications into consideration, but it worked out extremely well for Mora’s Bruins.

Woulard will not be expected to play at all in 2013, with Brett Hundley moving into his redshirt sophomore season. In fact, depending on exactly how Mora and his staff would like to go about using Woulard, he may be redshirted. This, of course, despite his status as an elite recruit.

Following the series of events at USF, Woulard took a highly publicized trip to Kentucky. While newly hired coach Mark Stoops has done relatively well in his first recruiting cycle in Lexington, he was unable to bring Woulard aboard. Woulard also took official visits to Clemson and NC State before announcing his UCLA decision live on ESPNU.
