Apparently, the bright lights of Broadway were simply too much for Brooklyn Nets coach Avery Johnson.

After the franchise made the move from New Jersey to their brand new, billion dollar arena in Brooklyn, signing on big-time contracts in the process, expectations were increased.

But the amount of wins did not.

The Nets opened the season at 11-4 behind the hustle of Deron Williams at the point, center Brook Lopez and his huge new contract, and shooting guard Joe Johnson and his new contract. However, the team has lost 10 of its last 13 to fall to .500 at 14-14 on the year.

According to USA Today, assistant coach PJ Carlesimo will be taking over on an interim basis until Brooklyn’s next full-time head man is hired.
