In its last hurrah, the Big East sends eight teams to the 2013 NCAA Tournament

The Big East as we know it may be finished forever, but at least the once-legendary basketball conference will have the opportunity to go out with a bang.

After winning the conference tournament, coach Rick Pitino’s squad not only earn a top seed in the Dance, but was named the field’s No. 1-overall team.

In all, eight teams from the Big East earned a berth in the 2013 NCAA Tournament and the chance to send their conference into the sunset on top.

Without further ado …

1-seed, Midwest region: Louisville Cardinals

2-seed, South region: Georgetown Hoyas

3-seed, East region: Marquette Golden Eagles

4-seed, East region: Syracuse Orange

7-seed, West region: Notre Dame Fighting Irish

8-seed, West region: Pittsburgh Panthers

8-seed, South region: Villanova Wildcats

10-seed, Midwest region: Cincinnati Bearcats
