This Monday we’ll take an opportunity to say goodbye to a terrific Seminole who has decided this will be his last season in Tallahassee and will be leaving to make good in the NFL.

Florida State star defensive end Brandon Jenkins announced last week that he would not seek a medical redshirt, instead choosing to declare his eligibility for the 2013 NFL draft.

The 6-foot-3, 260 pound senior was considered a first round talent following his junior season, but elected to return to the ‘Noles’ lineup for a final go-round. His final season as a ‘Nole lasted less than one quarter: Jenkins suffered a Lisfranc injury in the first quarter of the Seminole’s season opener versus Murray State, sidelining him for the remainder of the season.

As a ‘Nole, Jenkins recorded 119 tackles, including 22.5 sacks. He had a breakout sophomore season in which he forced a pair of fumbles and came up with 13 and a half sacks, putting him on the watch lists of many NFL scouts.

Jenkins is now expected to be a second to third round pick. We here in ‘Nole Nation know that whoever selects this Seminole star will be getting a true talent. We can’t wait to see Brandon making good on Sundays.
