The stories of legendary professional athletes hanging on for too long or struggling once they’ve entered retirement have been well-chronicled. Joe Montana spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs. Michael Jordan bought the Wizards, then sold his share and straight up played for the team.

Brett Favre spent a couple of years bumbling about with the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings, but the former Green Bay Packers’ superstar seems to have finally found his rhythm as a retiree.

What is the NFL career leader in passing yards and touchdowns up to these days?

He’s keeping his arm loose, that’s for sure, and dominating church dodgeball tournaments, what else?

These days, Favre is not trying to hit Donald Driver on crossing routes; nor is he chucking the ball 60-plus yards downfield to Andre Rison with a 330-pound defensive tackle all up in his grillpiece.

No, the man was easily the biggest celebrity in the $30 per team dodgeball tourney he entered at the Temple Baptist Church in Hattiesburg.

Again, guys like Edgar Bennett and Don Beebe may be nowhere to be found, but the competition was no less fierce. This is the actual promotional video for the 5th Annual Tourney, make of it what you will.
