Chris Johnson predicts that he will gain more yards than Adrian Peterson in 2013 … what?

A lot of eyes and ears have been on the Tennessee Titans’ Chris Johnson lately. With the 2013 NFL Combine held over the weekend, many sports talk shows were anxious to get a soundbite with the current 40-yard dash record-holder (well, to clarify, his time of 4.24-seconds is tied with Rondel Malendez, but no one wants to hear from the Eastern Kentucky grad right now).
Johnson gave them those soundbites, and then some. Speaking via satellite to ESPN’s NFL Live, CJ2K announced his intentions of out-rushing Adrian Peterson in 2013.
“I’m very confident. I’ve always been a confident guy. This is a situation, if you want something to happen, you’ve got to speak on it. You’ve got to believe in it and you’ve got to pray and God will lead you there. It’s the kind of situation where I know the kind of guy I am. I know the kind of back I am. If the situation is right for me, I know I can do it.”
The thing is, we don’t want to just straight up laugh in Chris Johnson’s face — the dude’s a studly running back who should be productive for the next three years at least.
However, Adrian Peterson is more than a man. He is a cyborg. There simply is no competing against guys who rush for 2,097 yards less than a year after an ACL tear.
What do you think about Johnson’s confidence level heading into the 2013 season?
