Texas A&M’s Christine Michael slept through team meetings at NFL Combine

While Johnny Football was busy wowing the nation in his first season at Texas A&M, Aggies running back Christine Michael was busy being forgotten amid all the hoopla. Michael rushed for a mere 417 yards as a senior, however, the 5-foot-11, 220-pounder showed off his elite athletic ability recently at the NFL Combine.

Michael raised his draft stock by bench pressing 225 pounds 27 times, broad jumping further than 10 feet, and clocking a 4.5-second 40-yard dash.

Despite his impressive performance on the field, all of his work in Indy was dashed when he simply forgot to turn on his alarm clock.

The numbers were great, but according to Fansided, Michael overslept and missed a meeting with two different NFL teams — you just can’t do that.

Now, all of a sudden, the behavioral issues that got him in the doghouse during his senior year are amplified. The broken leg suffered in 2010 and the torn ACL sustained in 2011 are put under an even stronger microscope.

Obviously, those two teams are going to be looking in another direction for a bruising running back. The rest of the league did not get slept in on, and his physical prowess may be enough for a franchise to fall in love with him.

Maybe. Michael sure did not do himself any favors.
