Buckle up Clemson fans, this could be the year that we break through the barrier. This news has been expected, but now it is official. According to ESPN’s Joe Schad, star quarterback Tajh Boyd has opted to not declare for the NFL draft and will return for his senior season.

With Boyd’s return, Clemson will undoubtedly field one of the top offenses in the country in 2013. He will be joined by the electric Sammy Watkins and leading wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins (he hasn’t announced, but is expected to return).

Boyd compiled 4,410 total yards of offense this past season, topping his own record of 4,046 set in 2011. For his efforts he was named as a first team All-American by the American Football Writers Association.

Welcome back to Death Valley, Tajh!
