Plenty of Atlanta fans got a good chuckle out of this massive statue outside of the Georgia Dome prior to the NFC Championship game against Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers.
Well, after jumping out to a 17-0 lead early in the second quarter, it looked like the laughs were not going to stop until the Falcons reached New Orleans in two weeks for Super Bowl XLVII. That was until Kaepernick himself dusted off his jersey and proceeded to engineer a comeback that will go down in franchise lore.

Kaepernick and his teammates got the last laugh on the football field, winning the game, 28-24, in dramatic fashion. However, outside of the stadium, the quarterback’s parents may have been laughing the loudest.
How often is one’s son characterized in a massive statue depicting him with a massive wedgie? Classic stuff, and with a Super Bowl berth to boot, hopefully this photo goes right next to Colin’s baby pictures.
Or right next to his Super Bowl Trophy — that remains to be seen.
