The headline just about says it all.

Kenneth Faried, the Nuggets’ studly second-year man, is averaging 12.3 points and 10.0 boards per game on the young NBA season, making him a vital cog in the Denver machine.

Thus, on Tuesday night against the San Antonio Spurs, the coaching staff had Faried playing despite suffering from a bout of the flu.

Well, the 6-foot-8, 228-pound small forward played more than admirably, finishing the night with 19 points and 11 rebounds in the team’s 112-106 win.

However, the win came at a price, most notably to the towel in his hand during a timeout early in the fourth quarter.

Faried sat out the final seven minutes of the third quarter, but apparently he could have used an extra bit of time, as, only three minutes later, Faried’s illness got the best of the poor guy.

Kosta Koufos and Ty Lawson could not get away fast enough, but Lawson, in particular, was not averse to passing him the ball after the yak attack.

Faried actually hopped back into the game for a few more minutes before subbing out.

Legen — wait for it — dary.

Legendary.
