Eddie Lacy will miss Alabama’s Pro Day with lingering injury

According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, former Alabama star running back Eddie Lacy will not be participating in the Crimson Tide’s upcoming Pro Day due to lingering tightness in his recently torn hamstring.

The 6-foot, 219-pound bruiser with a nearly untouchable spin move is expected to work out, but not until a later, as yet to be determined date.

The injury also kept Lacy out of the recent NFL Combine. He sustained the small tear while working out at IMG Academy. His trainers were putting him through a practice combine in order to prepare for the real thing when he pulled up lame running a 40-yard dash. Unfortunately, an MRI revealed that there was, in fact, a small tear.

Generally speaking, the injury might not have been severe enough to keep him off the field for Alabama. However, Lacy must be and is looking at his very near future as an investment in himself. Called ‘Circle Button’ for his elite spin move, Lacy is supposed to be the next in a great line of recent Bama backs to be selected in the first round — after Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram and All-American Trent Richardson

Currently, there are no running backs slotted anywhere near the top of either Mel Kiper’s big board or Todd McShay’s mock draft, but that could change with a great workout from Lacy.

Whenever that may be.

Lacy rounded out his junior year at Tuscaloosa with 1,322 yards and 17 touchdowns while averaging a robust 6.5 yards per carry.
