Five-star basketball recruit Josh Level dies after collapsing on basketball court

Highly-touted basketball recruit Josh Level of New Garden Friends High School collapsed during a basketball game on Tuesday night and was rushed to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

It was at the hospital where Level passed away, but it will be in the hearts of NGFS and his family in which his spirit will live on. NGFS released the following message:

Dear New Garden Friends School Community,

It pains us deeply to inform you of the loss tonight of one of our students.

Josh Level, a junior at NGFS, died after collapsing during a basketball game at Quality Education in Winston-Salem.

We will provide you with information as it comes available about funeral arrangements.

Tomorrow we will have Meeting for Worship in the morning, and we will have counselors on site for students, staff and faculty.

We know that you join us in conveying the deepest sorrow and most sincere condolences of the New Garden Friends School community to Josh’s parents and family.

Level was in just his junior year as a high school student, and was touted as a five-star prospect by the biggest recruiting services in the nation. Following is a tribute video to the 17-year old from ballislife.com.
