The Florida Gators (8-1) returned home after a disappointing loss Saturday night to Arizona and pounded the Southeastern Louisiana Lions (1-8), 82-43.

Guard Mike Rosario contributed a game-high 20 points, which is also his career-high as a Gator. Rosario recorded 33 points while at Rutgers.

Southeastern Louisiana shot a horrendous 14 percent from behind the three-point line. Part of that was Florida forcing them into poor shots as the Lions attempted to slow the game down and milk the shot clock down to single digits. Guard Brandon Fortenberry was the only Lion in double figures, scoring 15 points. The Lions were never truly in the game, but had some success breaking the press early with long passes to open players that leaked behind Florida’s defense.

Florida went deep into their bench with 12 players playing minutes including the return of guard Micheal Frazier II. Frazier was absent Saturday with the flu, but came back with an impressive 12 points leading all bench players and pitching in the second most points from any Gator.

Guard Kenny Boynton continues to shoot poorly, over the last four games Florida has played, Boynton is a disappointing 9-for-40 from the field. It will be interesting to see how long it takes Boynton to break out of his shooting funk, but with Rosario as red-hot as he currently is, Florida is in good shape for now.

The Gators return to action Saturday December 23 against Kansas State in Kansas city.
