Former Gators QB Doug Johnson accused of brutally beating a man
Former University of Florida QB Doug Johnson, who suited up for the Gators from 1996-1999, has been accused of brutally beating a man following the 2012 Florida vs LSU game in Gainesville, FL.
According to Gainesville Sun, Johnson and two other men partook in the beating of Joe Capelletti, who sustained such severe injuries that he blacked out.
Johnson’s attorney is claiming that his clients were acting in self defense and were actually the victims, however Capelletti’s story is quite the opposite.
Cappelletti claims that Johnson and co. initiated the ruckus and attacked him. He has filed a complaint with the State of Florida that “alleges felony battery,” and the state will now decide whether or not to pursue charges.
