Fox fails in epic fashion, claims Tennessee has hired Butch Davis

————————————————————————————————————————————————

Let this be a lesson to all you aspiring journalists out there. No matter how desperate you are to be the first to break a story — and the urge will feel overwhelming at times — please, whatever you do, double-check all those pesky tweets first.

Or else you wind up looking like Fox Sports, and not only reporting on an incorrect hiring, but providing the incorrect bio as well.

Tennessee did not hire former North Carolina, Miami and Browns coach Butch Davis, but rather former Central Michigan and Cincinnati head man Butch Jones.

Obviously, Fox News has had to deal with its fair share of biased and often totally erroneous reporting, and now it looks like a lack of journalistic integrity has leaked into its sports division.

Sounds harsh?

Yup, but that’s why, boys and girls, we double-check all of our tweets before sending them into the internet world, right?

Keep Hatin’ >> Auburn has sunk pretty low, apparently, with these ‘WarIrish’ pins
