Dameyune Craig returns to Auburn to build upon the legend he erected for himself as one of the most prolific quarterbacks in the proud history of the school.

After spending the last three seasons as the Florida State quarterbacks coach and recruiting coordinator, newly hired head coach Gus Malzahn brings in Craig as his new co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach. Malzahn told ESPN that Craig is “one of the top young coaches” in college football.

Malzahn himself was welcomed back to Auburn with open arms after winning the national title as the Tigers’ offensive coordinator in 2010. Craig is expected to receive the same reception.

As the Auburn quarterback from 1994-97, Craig set all-time school records for single-season passing yards (3,227) and completions (216).

Craig will work with Rhett Lashlee, who Malzahn brought with him as his offensive coordinator from Arkansas State. The trio will be running the wide-open, spread attack that Malzahn made famous with Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton leading the team’s offense.
