These stats should just about say it all, but just in case, we’ve dug deep for a few more numbers.
Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim began his tenure with the Orange way back in 1976. Thus, the 39 points his team mustered against Georgetown is the lowest output for the school’s basketball team in more than 37 years, not exactly the best way to wind down the program’s time in the Big East.
Boeheim is already a Basketball Hall of Famer (class of 2005) and College Basketball Hall of Famer (class of 2006). He has won a whopping 911 games over his storied coaching career, while losing a mere 309.
However, his team played its absolute worst during that 309th, which has got to hurt.
Unless you’re a fan of the red-hot Georgetown Hoyas. In that case, it was the best possible way to say “peace out” to the ‘Cuse, who are headed to the ACC next year.
