Grinnell’s Jack Taylor, who scored 138 points in one game, out for season with broken wrist

According to the Associated Press, Jack Taylor, who scored an NCAA record 138 points in one game for Grinnell College in November, is out for the season after sustaining a broken bone in his right wrist.
Grinnell spokesperson Ted Schultz confirmed that Taylor fractured the radius on his shooting wrist in the middle of a 119-117 win over Cornell (Iowa) on Wednesday.
The sophomore’s surgery is planned for sometime in the coming days. Recovery and rehabbing is expected to keep Taylor out for 2-3 months, costing him the rest of the year. The Pioneers are 9-3 on the season, but they will be losing a young man who had been averaging a whopping 36.3 points per game.
Taylor blew up the college basketball universe with his performance against Faith Baptist on November 21 when he shattered the all-time collegiate scoring record by a silly 25 points. He finished with a record 138 points after going 52-108 from the field and bagging a massive 27 three-point shots.
Granted, he took 71 attempted from beyond the arc. The dude had 58 points by halftime, but really heated up in the second half, pouring in another 80 the rest of the way — seriously.
The final score of that one? 179-104.
