J.R. Smith had a Twitter moment with a girl and it wasn’t a good one

J.R. Smith has 99 problems and Twitter is one. (Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports)

Let me guess, after you read that headline you said “no way, not J.R. Smith” to yourself. Ok, maybe that was just a bit of a stretch.

Smith is a shooting guard for the New York Knicks, and has somewhat of a troubled past. If you aren’t familiar, just go ahead and Google him.

According to Deadspin’s Barry Petchesky , Smith was in Philadelphia last month for a game with the Knicks when he reportedly engaged in the following Twitter conversation with a female.

Smith decided to keep it classy by asking the girl if she was “trying to get the pipe?”. If you’re not quite sure what he means there, just go ahead and give that one a Google too.

No folks, we can’t make this stuff up.

Deadspin went on to write:

We don’t know if anything happened after the game. We do know that Smith went 0-for-8 that night. We do know that the girl in the Twitter conversation is a senior in high school. We do know that the age of consent in Pennsylvania is 16.

Other than that, it’s just another typical day for Smith.
