Did Vandy coach James Franklin just call out a recruit for committing to Tennessee?

No 1 can offer combination of attributes we can,no 1,best of both worlds,if u want 2 settle in life this probably isn’t place 4 u anyway!

Could we be making more of this tweet than we should be? Of course, but in the cutthroat world of college football recruiting — not to mention James Franklin’s reputation as an emotional leader, in a good way — we’re probably not.
Recently, one of the best recruits in the state of Tennessee, Jalen Hurd, committed to play in Knoxville for coach Butch Jones and the Volunteers. Hurd’s commitment came on the heels of another elite in-state recruit, Todd Kelly Jr.’s, decision to play for the Vols as well.
Vanderbilt was downright awful before Franklin stepped onto the Nashville campus. It definitely takes a complete, singularly focused mind to turn around a multi-million dollar operation in the manner Franklin has.
However, letting that intensity bleed into a Twitter rant over the life decision of a 17-year old kid is poor form.
What teenager wants to be told he’s ‘settling in life’ by an adult who looks more like a bad sport than a coach of an SEC football team?
