Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim makes impassioned gun control speech following win No. 900 [Video]
On a night that should have been all about Jim Boeheim, the legendary Syracuse head coach made it about something far more important and much more widely reaching.
With a 72-68 win over Detroit-Mercy, Boeheim became just the third coach in the history of college basketball to reach 900 wins, along with Bobby Knight and Coach K. Yet, in the wake of one of the most devastating and unnecessary tragedies in the history of our great nation, Boeheim did not talk about his personal achievement. Instead, he spoke in support of gun control.
No, he is not a policy maker, nor is he some sort of political science expert, but he understands at the very least that hunters do not need assault weapons.
Does anyone else, besides police and military? Sound off below with your thoughts!
