The campus of Kansas State is nestled comfortably in the heart of Manhattan.
Just not exactly the Manhattan you’re thinking of.
Folks from the Little Apple were treated to the Heisman campaign of senior quarterback Collin Klein and an 11-1 season culminating in a Big 12 Championship. Thus, thousands made a potential trip to the Fiesta Bowl in warm Phoenix an excuse to hop out of the chilly Midwest for the holidays.
Evidently, there were far more fans than there were tickets allotted, however.
Not to be put out, the K-State brass secured an extra 1,000 tickets that will not be going to corporate sponsors — a large portion of any bowl game who does not care about the game itself — but instead to 1,000 extra die-hard fans.

That means 1,000 more people will get to go tailgating and then enjoy what might be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see their team in one of the most historically elite bowls against another elite program in Oregon.
The only thing left to say is this: Awesome job K-State fans.
