For Kentavious Street, scholarship offer from Florida State a ‘dream come true’

Coach Jimbo Fisher and his Florida State coaching staff recently tied a bow on their 2013 recruiting class, but the effort to bring elite prep talent to campus is never ending.

Hardly more than a week out of 2013 National Signing Day, Fisher and Co. had already reached out to several high school superstars in anticipation of their graduation in 2014.

One of those young men is Kentavious Street. The Greenville, North Carolina native is a 6-foot-2, 256-pound defensive end who has already garnered offers from the likes of Clemson, North Carolina, Ohio State, Tennessee and Notre Dame.

However, the one offer he had been waiting on was the one he earned from Florida State.

“I’ve been waiting on this offer (from Florida State) my whole life, so all the hard work is paying off,” Street told Michael Langston of Warchant.com. “I grew up watching (FSU) personally. They were my favorite team growing up. In my area, it’s either Georgia fans or Florida State fans and that’s how we are. I know all the traditions, the Warchant, the horse, the spear, everything.

“They are my number one school now. I’ve been waiting so long for this so to have it is unreal.”

Obviously, a lot can — and generally does — change over the course of an entire calendar year. But at this point, it surely looks like the Noles can look forward to bringing in a superstar defensive end to keep the recruiting momentum going.
