The LSU Tigers always boast a dominant defensive unit that is absolutely stacked with talent. In 2012, no one along the team’s talented defensive front seven racked up more total tackles than linebacker Kevin Minter.
The junior racked up a whopping 130 tackles on the season, or a nice, clean average of 10 per game. He also led all Tigers defenders with 15.0 tackles for a loss while picking off one pass, collecting four sacks, breaking up five passes and forcing one fumble.
On Thursday, the 6-foot-2, 245-pound native of Suwanee, GA officially declared that he would no longer be harassing collegiate quarterbacks, but instead he would be muscling his way into the NFL Draft.
Minter is the No. 1-rated inside linebacker according to NFLDraftScout.com, and he should go in the early rounds of the Draft after the completion of the NFL postseason.
