2012 Arkansas Football: RB Knile Davis plans to declare for the NFL Draft

| December 12, 2012 at 3:09 pm | 0 Comments

In a move some may deem as a bit of a surprise, Arkansas running back Knile Davis will forgo his senior season and enter the NFL Draft.

There is no doubting his level of ability. As a sophomore in 2010, Davis led the SEC in rushing with 1,322 yards while scoring 13 touchdowns.

However, Davis missed the entire 2011 season recovering from an ankle injury, and while he claimed he was returning at full strength in 2012, his 377 yards on 3.7 yards per carry speak otherwise.

Former Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema is taking over the Razorbacks program and is expected to bring his hard-nosed rushing attack to Fayetteville. This type of game-planning may have been a perfect way for Davis to return to the top of the SEC dogpile and thus the NFL Draft.

His draft stock is not expected to be as high as before he got hurt, but if he injured himself again with Arkansas, he might not reach his dream of playing in the NFL at all.

Wishing you the best of luck in your future Knile!
