Get ready for the endless benchwarmer lines. Lamar Odom, who has been a notorious benchwarmer during his career in the NBA, took a trip to New York City for a child custody hearing on Tuesday.

While in the courthouse, Odom really warmed the place up by falling asleep on one of the benches.

No folks, we can’t make this stuff up. According to the NY Post:

New York-native and Los Angeles Clippers forward Lamar Odom fell asleep on a hard, not-so-comfortable courthouse bench today as lawyers hashed out his ongoing child custody case behind closed doors.

The 6-foot-10 hoopster’s legs dangled well over the short, second-floor wooden bench. His impromptu nap drew the attention of a Manhattan court officer.

“Excuse me, are you OK?” the officer asked Odom.

After the player said he was fine, the officer said: “I need you to sit up.”

Odom complied but slumped over, resting his head on his hand.

Although he’s married to Khloe Kardashian, Odom has two children with Liza Morales, and the two are currently in a custody battle over daughter Destiy (9) and Lamar Jr. (5).

After struggling — to say the least — in Dallas last year, apparently Odom has an inkling for benchwarming wherever he goes.
