The rich may soon be getting richer in Tuscaloosa.
The nation’s top 2014 recruit at the running back position, Leonard Fournette, is scheduled to take an official visit to Alabama’s campus over the weekend, according to AL.com.
“I am looking for somewhere that I feel at home at and that I am comfortable with,” Fournette recently told 247Sports. “I want a school with a good atmosphere and good people. I will just know when the feeling is right.”
Coach Nick Saban and his tide staff will be hosting a number of 2014 recruits for unofficial visits over the weekend, but all eyes (as they have been throughout his high school career) will be on Fournette. The 6-foot, 215-pound back is widely rated as not only the top player at his position, but the top overall football star in the entire nation.
The New Orleans native has the numbers to back up the hype: In his junior year alone, the St. Augustine High Schooler tallied a whopping 2,136 yards and 31 touchdowns rushing and another 313 yards and three scores through the air. In his three years, he has never rushed for less than 1,700 in a season.
But if you don’t believe us, or AL.com, or the various recruiting services that all have Fournette ranked at or near the top of their lists, or even his own statistics — well, no worries.
Just check out the highlights. This dude can make it do what it do.
