LSU pushing man !!!! Getting hard now !
— Robert Nkemdiche (@Aceboogie_001) February 3, 2013
Robert Nkemdiche’s older brother, Denzel, starred as a redshirt freshman linebacker for Ole Miss in 2012, racking up a team-high 82 tackles for the up-and-coming Rebels.
However, his brother’s ability, and the desire of his mother to only visit one school from her home in Nigeria, may not be enough to bring the nation’s No. 1-rated recruit to Oxford.
With the 6-foot-5, 265-pound younger Nkemdiche scheduled to make his decision in the very early morning on National Signing Day on Feb. 6, the superstar defensive end scheduled one last recruiting trip to LSU over the weekend.
Of course, having the opportunity to meet Shaq cannot hurt, but there was far more to the young man’s LSU visit than the future NBA Hall of Famer.
This according to Gary Laney of GeauxTigerNation:
“Nkemdiche called defensive line coach Brick Haley his ‘dog,’ said he ‘loved’ recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson and said LSU had ‘made it hard; for him. That’s good news for the Tigers considering most had expected Nkemdiche to be an Ole Miss lock.”
Sometimes an abundance of riches is not always ideal.
Nkemdiche is so big, strong, fast and talented that he obviously can head to any school in the entire country. He has understood this presumably since he was 12. However, no matter where he chooses to go, someone is going to be upset.
At this point, it is looking more and more like his heart is saying LSU, but his mother is saying Ole Miss.
Whomever Nkemdiche chooses will have a talent along the likes of South Carolina superstar Jadeveon Clowney on their hands. However, has coach Les Miles and his staff made the Bayou so appealing that he will pick against the wishes of his own mother and head to LSU?
The entire college football world will be waiting anxiously to find out exactly that on February 6.
