Superstar linebacker Manti Te’o thrived in the eye of the public following the dual deaths of his grandmother and girlfriend in September.

Needless to say, there were plenty of questions when Deadspin.com broke a story announcing to the world that his girlfriend, Lennay Kekua, was a fake.

Te’o remained silent on the issue for a long time, fueling speculation that he was in on the hoax for the sake of publicity. At long last, Te’o really opened up, asking ABC News’ Katie Couric what she would have done in the same situation.
