Milton Jennings, a senior forward out of Summerville, South Carolina, was suspended by Clemson early on Thursday following an arrest on simple possession of marijuana charges.
Jennings, the team’s leading scorer in the early going of the season, averaging 10.8 points per game, could be spending some serious time off the court after this one.
It is the third time the Tigers have had to suspend Jennings in the last 13 months.
There was a complaint in Jennings’ apartment that a fire alarm had been removed, and police were called onto the scene to investigate. Upon arrival, they discovered an “an odor of marijuana” coming from Jennings’ room.
The former Pinewood Prep star admitted that he had been smoking, but he was physically arrested after the police found .5 grams in his possession.
Last December, Jennings was suspended following verbal confrontation with coach Brad Brownell during a game and last January he missed time yet again for an academic-related violation of team rules.
His presence will immediately be missed on the court, as Jennings will obviously not be in the lineup against Purdue in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Thursday night.
