Nation’s No. 1 RB Taquan Mizzell arrested during official visit to Virginia for underage drinking
One of the top prep stars in the nation, Taquan Mizzell, was arrested during his official visit to the University of Virginia over this past weekend.
Mizzel, who is the No. 1 ranked running back in the country according to Rivals.com, has already verbally pledged to the Cavaliers.
Following are details of the arrest via newsplex.com:
19-year-old Taquan Mizzell, nicknamed Smoke, was arrested by a Charlottesville Police officer early Sunday morning.
According to police spokesman Lt. Ronnie Roberts, an officer saw Mizzell standing in the middle of 14th St. trying to kick a passing car. Police report that Mizzell was cooperative with the arresting officer.
The Bayside High School star of Virginia Beach would be a major pull for head coach Mike London and the Cavs, who haven’t signed a five-star recruit since 2009.
Hopefully for Mizzel’s sake this is just a small bump in the road.
