North Carolina State star cornerback David Amerson will forgo his senior year of eligibility and enter the 2013 NFL Draft.
At 6-foot-2 and 193 pounds, Amerson has the size to compete against the big bodies of the NFL’s tallest wide receivers. ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper has Amerson rated as the fifth-best cornerback in the draft and the No. 48-overall player.
As a junior, Amerson recorded 52 tackles and finished tied for first in the ACC with five interceptions. However, that total was not indicative his Amerson’s intense ball-hawking ability, as most quarterbacks simply did not throw to the guys he was covering.
As a sophomore, Amerson tallied an ACC record with a whopping 13 interceptions, returning two of them for touchdowns.
Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh learned the Red Wings tradition “Legend of the Octopus.”
With their loss to the Pacers, many are claiming the 2012-13 season as a failure for the Knicks. A closer look shows that the team actually overachieved. This squad did something not seen in New York since before Y2K.
The decision of Ty Flournoy-Smith to transfer out of Georgia may have opened up a scholarship at Georgia for Milan Richard, Herschel Walker’s nephew.
Standing in at 6-foot-6 and 225 pounds, OJ Howard is set to make a major splash as a freshman tight end for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Mark Richt and the Georgia Bulldogs are zeroing in on five-star defensive tackle recruit Lamont Gaillard, who is said to be leaning towards Athens.
The 2013 showdown between the Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes will take place on Sept. 7 at noon. The memes aren’t happy about it.
